Sri Lanka’s most loved mobile device &accessories Brand, OPPO, recently launched an Avurudu jingleahead of the Sinhalese & Tamil New year. Sung by OPPO brand ambassador& The Voice coach Umaria Sinhawamsa, the song also features popular personalitiesincluding actor& singer Gayan Gunawardena and choreographer Ramod Malaka& his dance troupe, CoolSteps.
The visual for the song has been shot in ascenic village atmosphere & features a host of New Year traditions of greatcultural significance. The video also features thenewly launched fan-favorite OPPO F19 Pro which is on offer during the season. On the first day of sales alone, the F19 Prorecorded a 200% increase in sales compared to its predecessor F17 Pro.
CEO of OPPO Sri Lanka Bob Li said: “This project helped us to immerse into Sri Lankanculture better. In keeping with the spirit of the season, evolving &upgrading, OPPO has launched two concurrent promotions: ERABADU WASI from 2-13April & OPPO SERVICE WASI from 5 – 18 April.”

Meanwhile actor & singer Gayan Gunawardena noted that the shoot, which happens to be hisfirst major campaign with OPPO, was an unforgettable experience: “I’m glad tobe part of this project – working with OPPO was a very inspiring experience because we were allowed complete freedom to becreative which is in line with the ethos the brand & F19 Pro particularlyembody.”
Ramod Malaka, the choreographer for the video and long-termcelebrity ambassador for OPPO echoed Gunawardena’s comments, adding: “I have worked with OPPO over the past severalyears & find their commitment to the brand adapting & embracing SriLankan culture to be quite refreshing.
