The National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) states that they have received numerous complains that when persons infected with COVID-19 are found, the people nearby are not taken into quarantine.
However, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva stated that it is important to receive accurate information before sending people fir quarantine. He made these statements at a television programme broadcast this morning.
He also stated that they have found people infected with COVID-19 in areas where there is no curfew in place, adding that on average 4-8 people from Colombo, Kirindiwela, Kurunegala and Ganemulla are found. All of these areas have no curfew in place.
